What the month does to the Day Master
Born in 寅, the first month of spring, with a water Day Master. 休 — resting. Water produces wood, and in a wood month the Self is spending itself into the season without pause.
寅 holds 甲 wood, 丙 fire and 戊 earth. The wood draws you, the fire is what you would ordinarily check, and the earth is what contains you. None of the three returns anything, and 寅 is one of the branches that offers a water Self nothing directly.
《窮通寶鑑》 reads the first month as thawed ground under rising light, and the season's shortage is warmth. For a water Day Master that produces a divided requirement, which is the useful thing to know here: the season wants fire and your Self wants metal, and the two are opposed.
The practical reading: metal is load-bearing, water alongside you carries weight, and fire is wanted in the amount that lifts the cold rather than the amount that dries you.
