What the month does to the Day Master
Born in 丑, the last month of winter, with a water Day Master. 死 by the table — an earth month, and earth controls water — but of the four earth months 丑 bears on your phase most gently, and the reason is what is inside it.
丑 holds 己 earth, 癸 water and 辛 metal, and it is the 金庫, the vault of metal. The earth formally contains you, and then the branch carries both your own phase and the metal that produces it. Two of the three stems serve you. 丑 is also 濕土, moist earth, which holds water rather than absorbing it.
《窮通寶鑑》 gives the twelfth month the same instruction it gives every Day Master — warmth first, and nothing substitutes. For a water Self in frozen wet ground that requirement is the whole reading.
The practical position: fire is load-bearing, metal continues to supply you whether or not you want more, and additional earth hardens what is already inert.
