What the month does to the Day Master
Born in 巳, the first month of summer, with a fire Day Master. 得令 — the Self holds the mandate. 巳 is fire's own branch and the position is as strong as the first month of any season gets.
巳 holds 丙 fire, 庚 metal and 戊 earth. Your own phase leads it, with metal to work on and ground to stand in. Early summer is heat that has arrived and not yet become excessive, and a fire Self born here begins with the season behind it.
The 調候 reading in 《窮通寶鑑》 turns almost immediately to the opposite requirement. From the fourth month onward the year's problem is heat, and a fire Day Master in a fire month is the clearest case of it. Water is what the chart is read for — not as rescue but as the thing that gives strong fire something to be measured against.
