What the month does to the Day Master
Born in 酉, the second month of autumn, with a fire Day Master. 囚 — confined by restraining the season, and 酉 is the purest form of that confinement.
酉 contains only 辛 metal. Mid-autumn, undiluted, one of the four cardinal branches. For a fire Self the branch is entirely made of what you act on, and there is nothing else in it — no water to threaten you as in 申, and equally nothing to sustain you.
《窮通寶鑑》 gives a detail here that is specific to your phase and worth carrying. 辛 is the finished metal, the polished thing, and the classical texts say strong fire smelts 庚 but hesitates before 辛 — 「逢辛反怯」 in 《滴天髓》's phrasing of it. A fire Day Master in a 辛 month is facing the material it is least suited to force.
