What the month does to the Day Master
Born in 酉, the second month of autumn, with an earth Day Master. 休 — resting, and more completely than in 申.
酉 is a cardinal branch containing only 辛 metal. Where 申 held residual earth inside it, 酉 holds none. The entire month is your output, undiluted, and an earth Self born here is producing continuously with nothing returning.
《窮通寶鑑》 reads the eighth month as metal at its sharpest, and for your phase the classical concern is 泄 — drainage — rather than attack. Nothing in 酉 is hostile to earth. It simply takes, and takes without interruption.
The instruction that follows is support: fire to produce you and earth to stand with you. What this chart does not want is more metal, however naturally the month supplies it, and it does not want water either, since water is what metal makes next and the chain continues away from you.
The distinction between 休 and 死 matters here and is worth holding. You are not being controlled. You are being spent.
