What the month does to the Day Master
Born in 子, the second month of winter, with a fire Day Master. 死 — the season controls the Self, and 子 does it without any of 亥's compensations.
子 is a pure branch containing only 癸 water. Deep winter, maximum moisture, and nothing else in the month at all. Where 亥 carried 甲 wood as fuel inside it, 子 carries nothing you can use. A fire Self born here is at the least supported point of the year.
《窮通寶鑑》 treats the eleventh month as the extreme case of the climate problem and asks for warmth before anything else, for every Day Master without exception. For yours the requirement is simply a description of the Self, which means this chart is read almost entirely through whether wood and fire appear anywhere else in it.
Two consequences. Support here is structural rather than optional, and the ordinary reading of water as a check does not apply — there is already more than the chart can carry.
