A 水 Water Day Master and a 火 Fire Day Master
The first thing the tradition settles about two charts is not sentiment but direction: which way the traffic runs between the two Day Masters. Here it is 我剋 — you control them.

The two Day Masters
The relation is 我剋 wǒ kè — you control them. Your Day Master is Water; the other chart's is 火 huǒ, Fire, and Water is the phase that puts fire out. Whatever the Day Master controls occupies the 財 cái seat, the wealth position, which in a reading of two people describes what falls to you to manage rather than anything you own.
《三命通會》 sets the exchange out with both parties in it: 水能剋火,火炎水熱 — "Water is able to control Fire; where the Fire blazes, it is the Water that is heated." The second clause is the part that does not get quoted, and it is the whole reason this block is worth reading twice. The tradition declines to treat 剋 as damage because control is what makes a thing usable. Fire nobody governs is not warmth; it is a burn and then an absence. Cooking, smelting, warmth that lasts through a night — every use fire has ever been put to depends on something that will not let it spread, and in this pairing that something is a person with a temperament, not a device. You are the reason their intensity produces work instead of wreckage, and they are very unlikely to describe it that way.
What they pay is being lowered. A person of that phase experiences a calm response to their heat not as reassurance but as refusal, and the specific injury is being met reasonably when what was wanted was to be met at the same temperature. Over years this becomes a suspicion that you are not in the room with them.
What you pay is your coolness, which is not infinite. 火炎水熱 is an observation about the controller: restraint absorbs what it restrains. You do not neutralise heat, you take it in, and water that has taken in enough heat is no longer the thing that could cool anything down. It is steam, and steam leaves. That is how this configuration usually ends, when it ends — not in a quarrel, but in the quiet discovery that the person who kept the temperature manageable has boiled off somewhere along the way.
Something to check rather than take on trust. The next time you handle a scene calmly and well, notice what time you get to sleep.
